Ammono-GaN

Institute of High Pressure Physics Unipress from Warsaw, Poland in cooperation with Orteh company designed and created very fast mail scanner using THz range of radiation. The manufactured device is very fast and efficient THz postal scanning system that can be used on the conveyor belt. From the very beginning we took care of modular construction that allows for many different configuration necessary in diverse applications. The system is illuminating an envelope with THz radiation (0.3 THz frequency which corresponds to 1 mm wavelength) which is shaped by a special diffractive optical element (based on a hyperbolic lens). After the envelope the radiation is directed through the matrix of lenses on detectors. Each detector is a field-effect transistor which generates electric signal then aggregated and consolidated with a PC by FPGA. The whole device is already working and has simple and intuitive software.
